3D Modelling, BIM & Revit
We predominantly use the industry standard Autodesk Revit to create models of existing buildings and structures derived from 3D point cloud information from a site survey.
We are competent working to varying levels of detail (LOD) dependant on the projects needs and are always happy to discuss your requirements before commencement of any project. Here's a simple guide to the LOD options we offer.
LOD 1 - Massing model
Basic 3d model of building and/or site with no internal detail or openings.
Useful for massing studies, analysis and site modelling, initial conceptual design and early state project planning.
LOD 2 - Basic model
3d model of internal and external building including all walls ceiling and floors, basic openings, roofs, main columns and beams and stairs
Useful for initial design and concept development where much of the building will be replaced during works.
LOD 3 - Standard model
Detailed model of the existing building ideal for renovations and architectural visualisations.
Detail includes all walls and wall types where required, floors and ceilings, window openings with frames and glazing, doors with frames and panels, stairs with hand rails and all major columns and beams.
Our most popular LOD and an ideal balance between cost and detail.
LOD 4 - Detailed Model
Highly detailed model of the existing building, ideal for properties where conservation is of importance.
Detail includes, but not limited to, all walls and wall details, windows and doors including frame and panel detail, floors and ceilings, stairs with custom treads stringers and handrails, roofs with soffits, facias and guttering, all columns and beams and sanitary fixtures and fittings.
